Abhyang and Shirodhara Therapy

Abhyang ! Special Therapy for to relax your Vata Dosha 

 

Abhyanga therapy is a traditional Ayurvedic practice involving a full-body oil massage. The term “Abhyanga” translates to “to massage” in Sanskrit. This therapy uses warm, herbal-infused oils tailored to an individual’s dosha (body constitution) and aims to promote balance, relaxation, and overall well-being.

Benefits of Abhyanga Therapy:

  1. Improves Circulation: The massage enhances blood flow and lymphatic drainage.

How It’s Done:

  1. Preparation: The body is typically prepped with a warm oil that suits the individual’s dosha.

  3. Massage Techniques: Various techniques are used, including long strokes, circular motions, and kneading.

  5. Duration: Sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour.
  6.  
  7. Post-Massage: After the massage, clients may be advised to rest or enjoy a warm bath to enhance the effects.

Considerations:

  • Abhyanga can be beneficial when done regularly, ideally once a week for Healty Person.
 
Acharya Vagbhat Says “Abhyangam Aacharet Nityam”. A healthy person should do abhyang daily to tone up body, to reduce Vata Dosha, to elevate energy in the body. 

 

For Pure Vata Elevation – Every day abhyang is necessary.

For Pitta and Kapha Elevation – Once or twice a Week abhyang is enough. 

 

In Diseased condition, Abhyang must be applied according to advise of Ayurveda Physician.

The process typically lasts around 30 to 60 minutes and is often accompanied by a soothing environment, including calming music and dim lighting.
