Basti is the therapy to remove Vata Dosha from lower part of body i.e. from Anus. In this Enema of oil or any decoction is given through Anus. 

Procedure for Therapeutic Proper Basti – This Treatment is given to the patients with various symptoms of Vata vitiation. In Basti, mostly Oil or Decoctions of various medicines are passed through Anus which removes clogged up fecal matter with vitiated Vata Doshas from the abdomen which in turn decreases improper functioning of Vata.in other parts of body.

Vaidya may suggest you 3 types of courses of Basti

1. Yog Basti Krama – For 8 Days includes 4 Oil + 4 medicinal decoction bastis
2. Kal Basti Krama – For 16 days includes 9 Oil + 7 medicinal decoction bastis
3. Karma Basti Krama – For 30 Days includes 15 Oil + 15 medicinal dedcoction bastis
